The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has temporarily closed its recruitment application portal to enhance system efficiency.
The Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), communicated this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He indicated that this suspension pertains to the portal specifically set up for recruiting personnel into the board's paramilitary agencies. Jibril also mentioned that the portal is expected to reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025.
He elaborated that this decision was made to manage the overwhelming number of applications and ensure a seamless recruitment experience.
“This initiative will guarantee that the portal can handle the large volume of applications while maintaining a smooth, transparent, and equitable recruitment process,” the statement noted.
He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their interest in joining these essential services and assured them of an unbiased process. “We value the enthusiasm and commitment of young Nigerians to serve their nation through these crucial agencies.
We stand firm in our dedication to a fair and transparent recruitment process,” added the statement.
Jibril pointed out that the suspension impacts the agencies under the CDCFIB, such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The board encouraged applicants to keep an eye on the portal and submit their applications swiftly when the system reopens on July 21.
Rocketparrot News report that the recruitment initiative, which started on June 30, 2025, has generated thousands of applications from Nigerians pursuing employment in CDCFIB agencies.
