MINNA, Nigeria - The Niger Police Command successfully rescued four individuals who had been kidnapped from Sarkin-Pawa in the Munya Local Government Area.
This information was shared in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Saturday in Minna.
According to report the suspected kidnappers raided the villages of Hayin-Dogo and Dangunu in Sarkin-Pawa on February 20 around 10 pm.
During this incident, Usman Daina and four other individuals were taken captive; however, Daina was freed two days later.
Following the attack, a joint security team conducted various clearance and rescue operations to secure the victims' release. Thankfully, on May 22 around noon, the hostages, Deborah Daina, Gambo Amos, Cyprus Titus, and Satti Iko, managed to escape from their captors due to the relentless pressure from the security forces.
The rescued individuals were then taken to the hospital for medical care and later reunited with their families.
The Commissioner of Police for Niger Command, Adamu Elleman, praised the joint security team for their courageous efforts that led to the successful rescue and assured the public that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority for the police and other security agencies in the state.
