Nollywood actor Fatai Adetayo, known as Lalude, has accused the campaign teams of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of betrayal after their involvement in the 2023 general elections.
In a YouTube interview on the Behind the Fame channel, he claimed that he and fellow campaigners were not compensated as promised after working for over a month.
Lalude stated they received only ten thousand Naira daily for sustenance, which he deemed insufficient for campaign purposes.
He added that attempts to save part of the allowance led to payment delays, and ultimately, they received nothing after completing their work.
He expressed frustration over unfulfilled financial promises, specifically mentioning the NURTW leader, who had communicated assurances that were never honored.
Lalude warned that those responsible for withholding the payment would not thrive in life and mentioned that their efforts had been in vain.
Alapini, another actor, echoed the sentiment, clarifying that despite the difficult conditions during the campaign, he shielded the organizers from criticism.
He recalled promises made by Governor Sanwo-Olu, which he suspected might have been embezzled.
Lalude further described how the campaign involved seven weeks of camping, often walking considerable distances while others drove by.
Other Yoruba actors, such as Aminatu Papapa and Alapini, have voiced their regret for supporting Tinubu due to a lack of recognition and compensation.
