The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has stated that the Bola Tinubu administration is actively addressing the fundamental structural problems that have plagued the power sector for many years.
He described the current enhancements in power supply throughout the nation as merely a glimpse of what is expected to come in the next few years.
Adelabu made these remarks on Friday after participating in the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Agodi Prayer Ground in Ibadan.
He expressed hope that in the coming years, the sector will provide significantly improved services, ensuring that power supply reaches every Nigerian home, business, institution, and industry.
He remarked, “The greatest space in the world is the space for improvement. Rome was not constructed in a day.
To build a solid structure, one must have a strong and dependable foundation.
The power sector had significant foundational issues, which we are correcting with this administration.
The improvements you have observed are merely the tip of the iceberg. Major advancements in power supply are still to come.”
He added that the President has committed to illuminating the entire country and is steadfast in this promise, which he reiterated on Thursday during a ceremony in Port Harcourt marking the inauguration of a power plant.
“President Tinubu assured that his primary goal is to electrify every Nigerian home, business, institution, and industry.
I can assure you that we are committed to this. What you have witnessed is just the beginning in a year and a half’s time.”
“I began this role in September 2023, and it’s now the end of May, and you have already seen some changes. I promise you, within the next year, there will be significant improvements that will boost our industries, revive our small and cottage enterprises, and restore joy to homes where light prevails and darkness is eliminated,” he mentioned.
