In the Best Indigenous Language (Yoruba) category of the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award (AMVCA) held in Lagos, Nigerian film producer Kunle Afolayan's film "Anikulapo" took first place on Saturday.
Tobi Bakre, another Nigerian, was named Best Actor in a Drama Series, and Osas Ighodaro was named Best Actress in the same category.
The Best Actress in a Comedy award went to Bimbo Ademoye, and the Best Actor in a Comedy Drama for Movie or TV Series went to Animashaun Samuel, nicknamed Broda Shaggi, at the event held at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
