Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a candidate for the Labour Party in the race for governor of Lagos State, has pledged to file a lawsuit if the results of the current election do not go in his favor.
The Labour Party candidate said that there have been instances of vote suppression by thugs backing his opponent. He made these claims shortly after casting his ballot at polling unit 045, Oshifila/Abule Igbira in Anifowose, Ikeja.
Yet he maintained that in the election, Lagos residents' wishes must be respected.
The people's will will prevail, he declared. A lot of targeted voting suppression has occurred.
"The materials for the polling units in Alimosho and Iba have not yet arrived. You discover that voting supplies have not yet arrived everywhere we are strong and demonstrate our strength.
"I'm not praising someone whose mandate comes from intimidating and suppressing voters. Why would I act that way? I will go to court".
According to a report, the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is up against Rhodes-Vivour and Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who is running as the PDP's candidate for governor of Lagos State.
Despite accusations of threats from political thugs, it was noted that there was a significant turnout in the state for the election.
