LAGOS, Nigeria - The Lagos State Government has announced the start of the 2025 entrance examination for Junior Secondary Schools and Model Colleges throughout the state.
The Examination Board has informed parents, guardians, and headteachers of Primary 6 pupils moving to Junior Secondary Schools that the entrance exam for eligible candidates is forthcoming.
According to a statement from the Board’s Director, Orunsolu Adebayo, the screening test will occur from Wednesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 29, 2025, across the state.
To facilitate a quicker, more secure, and efficient assessment, Adebayo mentioned that the exam will be conducted via a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at five designated centers statewide.
He also advised parents and guardians to ignore claims from individuals promising to secure admission into JSS classes through unofficial channels, emphasizing that passing the screening test is the only legitimate route to admission.
"Candidates who meet the required cut-off marks will be granted admission into any Model College or upgraded Junior Secondary School, regardless of their first or second choice," Adebayo stated.
Additionally, he encouraged candidates to visit the board’s portal https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng and use their username and password to print a clear copy of their seating arrangement, which is necessary for the examination.
