The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission has issued a certificate of return to the 27 elected local government chairmen.
Presenting the certificates to the chairmen at the Secretariat, the ISIEC chairman, Mr. Charles Ejiogu said, “We are presenting the certificates to only chairmen today. In a few days, the councillors elected across the 305 wards will receive theirs”.
Ejiogu commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for the free, fair, transparent, and credible election.
He said, “We appreciate the stakeholders and security personnel for their cooperation that saw that voters came out in their numbers and participated in the election”.
“Aggrieved political parties should sheath their sword and know that only one person will be the chairman at a time. Whoever emerges will work for the good of the generality of the community members.”
