Kebbi Gov. Appoints 21 Secretaries to Strengthen Local Governance

KEBBI, Nigeria - Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has sanctioned the appointment of 21 new secretaries for the local government councils throughout the state. This information was shared in a statement issued on Monday by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, in Birnin Kebbi. 

The Chief Press Secretary cited the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, who noted that the appointments were communicated via official letters to the appointed individuals.

Bala-Tafida mentioned, “these appointments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance local governance structures and guarantee effective service delivery at the grassroots level.”

The newly appointed secretaries include Muhammad Aliero for Aliero Local Government, Zainab Kangiwa for Arewa, Lawali Target for Argungu, Dallatu Muhammad (NUT) for Augie, and Mohammed Gawamba for Bagudo. Additional appointees include Ahmed Zauro for Birnin Kebbi, Mohammed Umar Bunza for Bunza, Abdulkadir Kamba for Dandi, Rabi’u Bena for Danko Wasagu, Aliyu Abubakar for Fakai, Aliyu Dalijan for Gwandu, and Sabi’u Jandutse for Jega.

Further appointees are Umar Sama’ila for Kalgo, Suleiman Koko for Besse, Buhari Bawa for Maiyama, Aliyu Libata for Ngaski, Aliyu Diri for Sakaba, and Aminiu Arzuka for Shanga. The last set of appointments includes Abdullahi Kwakware for Suru, Nasiru Dantani for Yauri, and AbdurRahman Manga for Zuru.

Bala-Tafida urged the new secretaries to demonstrate diligence, loyalty, and a strong sense of accountability in their new positions, stating that “they are expected to make significant contributions towards achieving the development goals outlined by Governor Idris’s administration.”

He also noted that their performance would be monitored closely as part of the administration’s larger initiative for accountability and effective governance.
